8 Ways to Add Positive Energy to Your Bedroom

Updated: Jan 30, 2022

Your bedroom is the first place you see in the morning and the last place you see before you go to bed. It ought to be a space that brings you comfort, joy, and relaxation! Making a few easy adjustments to the bedroom can help you feel your best, whether you’re lounging around or tucking yourself in for the night. Here are a few simple ways to amp up the positive energy in your slumber chamber.

Reduce Clutter

Go through your room and get rid of what you don’t use. Reducing clutter is a way to enhance good energy when you keep only the things that you absolutely love! Remove any items that bring up bad memories or icky thoughts, whether it’s a momento from an ex or that expensive sweater you never wear!

Experiment with Color

Color is a natural mood enhancer. To get a desired feeling for your room, give the walls a new coat of paint. Blue helps with relaxation, red is for warmth and excitement, yellow is for cheer, and green is for tranquility.

Display Some Houseplants

Plants increase air circulation and studies have shown that they help with healing and concentration! Try out some low maintenance cacti, succulents, or jade plants.

Relaxing Noises

You can’t feel or see noise, so it’s easy to forget about it as an accoutrement for your room. But the right noise can add an extra sensory layer to your space that is both relaxing and hypnotic. Try an indoor fountain or wind chimes hung in the window for some background noise. White noise machines can be purchased to help you sleep. Or, just remember to put on some tunes every now and then.

Scents

Scent is overwhelmingly connected to memory and mood. The right scent can make your room feel extra fresh and adds character. There are a number of ways to naturally scent a room, but one of the best ways is to dilute essential oils in some water and use a spray bottle to spritz it around. Try rose for love, orange for joy, and lavender for relaxation.

Do Up Your Bed

Make your bed an inviting space. Experiment with lots of extra pillows, a new throw blanket, or one of those massive body pillows that feels like a giant hug. Making your bed extra comfy will not only make your room feel cozy, it can also help with sleep quality.

Rearrange Your Furniture

Dose your room just feel…well…off? Try rearranging your furniture to get the good energy flowing throughout the space. For example, if you have room to move your bed around, position it so that there is space on either side and avoid placing it directly in line with the door.

Lighting

There’s more to lighting than bulbs! Shake things up and try a new groovy lampshade. Hang twinkle lights or paper lanterns that you can switch on for a soft glow at night. Or take a moment to light some candles every now and then: their light soft flames are relaxing and they help burn away bad vibes.
