Are You Ready for a 90s Offline Challenge. Social Media is Causing Anxiety 🤔

In today's fast-paced and technology-driven world, it is easy to get caught up in the constant cycle of checking our phones, scrolling through social media, and consuming endless amounts of information. We have become so dependent on our devices that we often forget to take a step back and disconnect from the digital world.

When was the last time you picked up a landline phone to call someone instead of sending a text message? When was the last time you sat down and read a physical magazine instead of endlessly scrolling through articles and videos on your phone? When was the last time you took a walk outside instead of staring at a screen for hours on end?

Our reliance on technology has led to increased anxiety and stress in our lives. We are constantly bombarded with notifications, messages, and updates that can leave us feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from the world around us. We have become so engrossed in our virtual lives that we often neglect our physical and mental well-being.

It is important to take a step back and reevaluate our relationship with technology. We need to find a balance between the digital world and the real world in order to maintain our mental health and overall well-being. Here are five simple steps to help you disconnect from your devices and reconnect with the world around you:

1. Buy a phone book with a calendar: Instead of relying on your electronic calendar, invest in a physical phone book with a calendar to keep track of your appointments and important dates. This will help reduce your screen time and give you a break from constantly checking your phone.

2. Book your doctor's appointments for the year: Take the time to schedule all of your doctor's appointments for the year in advance. This will help you stay organized and on top of your health without having to rely on reminders from your phone.

3. Limit your time on social media: Give yourself a set amount of time each day to check social media on your desktop computer. Log out of your accounts on your phone to avoid mindlessly scrolling through feeds and getting caught up in comparison and negativity.

4. Find a hobby or passion: Engage in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment. Whether it's painting, gardening, or playing a musical instrument, find something that you are passionate about and dedicate time to it. This will help you stay busy and focused on something other than your phone.

5. Spend quality time with your family: Take your kids outside to play, have family dinners, and engage in meaningful conversations. Strengthening your relationships with your loved ones will help you feel more connected and grounded in the real world.

By taking these simple steps, you can begin to break free from the grip of technology and regain control of your life. Remember, it is important to prioritize your mental health and well-being above all else. Disconnect from your devices and reconnect with the world around you.
