Dressing for my petite size 🤩🤩

For years, I struggled with how to dress my petite frame. Growing up pre-social media, my perceptions were shaped by the often unrealistic and narrow beauty standards presented in television, magazines, and on the radio. These sources, while entertaining, instilled in me a warped idea of what I should look like.

I've always been petite – medium-sized boobs, a small waist, and a small frame – but I never felt like that was enough. The media I consumed seemed to suggest that 'bigger' was better, or that certain body types were more desirable. I internalized these messages, leading to a constant dissatisfaction with my natural shape.

Even after having my first child, my body, while fuller, remained petite. I was still me, just a more rounded version! This realization sparked a change in my thinking. Why was I fighting my natural body type instead of celebrating it?

The Summer of Self-Acceptance

So, I've made a decision: The summer of 2025 will be my summer of dressing for my size. No more trying to squeeze into styles that don't flatter my frame or hiding under layers of fabric. I'm committing to embracing my petite figure and finding clothes that make me feel confident and beautiful.

This isn't just about fashion; it's about self-acceptance and reclaiming my body image. It's about challenging the outdated ideals that have held me back for so long and defining my own standards of beauty.

What This Means to Me

Dressing for my size means:

  • Finding clothes that fit properly: No more oversized clothes or clothes that are too long.

  • Experimenting with styles that flatter my petite frame: High-waisted pants, A-line skirts, and fitted tops.

  • Embracing my curves: Highlighting my waist and celebrating my natural shape.

  • Rejecting the idea that I need to be anything other than myself.

I'm excited to see how this journey unfolds and to share my experiences with you. Stay tuned for updates on my summer of petite transformation!
